University Ceremonies and Special Events helps introduce KU to the public in a friendly and welcoming way with proactive outreach efforts such as representation at the Kansas State Fair, the Wheat State Whirlwind Tour, Family Weekend/Band Day, and other campus/community celebrations.
University of Kansas faculty and staff board a bus for a "whirlwind" tour of the state in May.
KU hosts a yearly state academic recognition program for about 400 seventh-grade students.
